Party is for real nights with real people. These rules keep it that way. They are part of the Terms of Use.

Be real

• Use your own identity. No impersonation of people, venues or organisers.
• List only real events. No fake events, fake venues or invented guest counts.

Be safe

• No events that put guests in danger, and no encouragement of dangerous drinking or drug use.
• Respect age limits. Do not invite or admit minors to events for adults, and never encourage underage drinking.
• Respect capacity and local rules.

Hosting rules

• Describe your event honestly: when and where it is, who organises it and what guests can expect. Update or cancel it in time if plans change.
• You are the organiser. Follow the law where the event takes place: permits for public events, capacity and fire safety, noise and closing times.
• Respect the legal age for alcohol where you are, and the age limit of your event. Party is for adults; check IDs at the door when it matters.
• No illegal drugs, weapons, gambling or sales at your event.
• At a private home, approve guests yourself and share the address only with confirmed guests.
• Never admit more people than the place can safely hold.

Be decent

• No harassment, threats, hate speech or sexual content involving anyone without consent.
• No sharing of other people’s private information, including home addresses.
• Only post photos you are allowed to share. Remove a photo if someone in it asks you to.

Respect others’ rights

• Only use photos, logos, artwork, music and texts that you own or have permission to use.
• Do not use the names or logos of artists, brands or venues in a way that suggests a connection that does not exist.

No spam, no scams

• No mass unsolicited invitations.
• No selling or transferring tickets outside of what the host allows.
• No illegal goods or services.

What happens when rules are broken

We review reports with a person, not just software. Depending on severity we remove content, cancel events, restrict hosting or messaging, or suspend accounts. We tell the person affected what we decided and why, and they can ask us to look again. Serious threats to safety are passed to the authorities where the law requires or permits it.
