Party helps people host and attend real events. This policy explains what personal data Party processes, why, who receives it and which rights you have. It is written for the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for people in the EU, the EEA and the UK, for the GDPR and the UK GDPR.

Who is responsible

The controller is Leo Heinz Sommerhalder (sole proprietor), Schaerhusweg 7, 4852 Rothrist, Switzerland. Contact for privacy requests: support@partyapp.io, in German or English.

Location

Events from other sources

Besides events created on Party, we list public events from Eventfrog through its official interface: title, time, venue, organiser and a link, and for Eventfrog events an image. No data about you is sent to them. Booking and tickets for those events happen on Eventfrog’s site, under its terms and privacy policy. When you open such a link you leave Party.

Usage statistics

Party counts how often things happen — for example event pages viewed, events saved or shared, booking links opened, RSVPs and check-ins. These counts contain no user ID, device ID, advertising ID or IP address. Party contains no advertising or tracking software and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Cookies and storage on your device

The website sets cookies only for the language: party_lang when you pick a language (kept for a year), and party_lang_s while you read pages in a language other than German (until you close the browser) — so the next page is in that language too. It contains no tracking or advertising technology. If you sign in on the website, your session is kept in your browser’s local storage, and the website remembers the area you last browsed. Both are needed for those functions and stay on your device until you sign out or clear your browser data. The app keeps your session in your device’s secure storage (the Keychain on iOS).

Where the website offers sign-in with Google or Apple, their buttons are loaded from Google’s and Apple’s servers when you open the sign-in form, so Google and Apple see your IP address and browser. If you use one, Google or Apple may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.

Retention

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time, in the app (You › Settings › Delete account) or on the website at /delete-account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, saved location, saved events, RSVPs, tickets, messages, photos, friendships and blocks are removed, and events you host are cancelled and your guests are told. If you signed in with Apple, Party also ends its access at Apple; if you signed in with Google, the app ends Party’s access at Google. Tickets you added to Apple Wallet stay on your device until you remove them, but their codes no longer work. What remains carries no link to your profile: counts, records of payments where paid entry was used (amount, date and the payment provider’s reference), and audit records of sensitive actions without your identity.

Your rights

You can access your data and receive it in a machine-readable format (Settings › Export my data, a JSON file), correct it in your profile, and delete your account as described above. You can also ask us to restrict processing, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@partyapp.io; we answer within 30 days. You can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), with the data protection authority where you live or work in the EU/EEA, or in the UK with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Children

Party is only for adults (18+). Everyone confirms their date of birth when they create an account, and an account under 18 is refused, as described above. This is a declaration, not an ID check. We do not knowingly process data of minors beyond that refusal; if we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we close it.

Changes

We update this policy when Party changes and tell you about material changes in the app.
