Party
Terms of Use
Last updated 2026-10-12
This text describes how Party works and applies as written. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be replaced by a reviewed version.
These terms govern your use of Party. By creating an account you agree to them.
The service
Party provides tools to create events, invite guests, manage guest lists and issue and scan entry tickets. Party is not the organiser of events hosted by users or organisations and is not a party to arrangements between hosts and guests.
Your account
- You must be at least 18.
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- You are responsible for activity on your account.
Hosting
- You are responsible for your event, its safety, and compliance with the law, including age limits, noise, capacity and licensing rules.
- Only publish events you actually intend to hold. Do not misrepresent the venue, the organiser or the nature of the event.
- A “verified” badge is granted and revoked by Party alone and only confirms the checks described in the app.
Tickets and entry
- Tickets for events hosted on Party are personal entry credentials — free where entry is free, paid where the host charges for entry. One ticket admits one person once.
- Hosts and venues may refuse entry in accordance with the law and their house rules, including after an ID check.
- A cancelled event voids its tickets.
Acceptable use
The Community Guidelines are part of these terms. We may remove content, cancel events or restrict accounts that violate them.
Events from other sources
Party also lists public events from third parties such as Eventfrog. Party does not organise these events, does not sell or issue tickets for them and is not responsible for them. Booking, payment, cancellations and refunds are handled by the organiser or ticket provider named on the listing, under their terms. Listings are updated daily; the organiser’s own page is authoritative.
Content you post
- You keep the rights to what you post (profile, event details, messages, photos) and allow Party to store and show it as needed to run the service, to the people your settings and the event allow.
- There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Anyone can report an event, person, message or photo and block another person from within the app. We review reports and act on them — removing content and restricting or removing accounts — as described in the Community Guidelines.
Cancellations
A host may cancel their event at any time; guests are notified and their tickets become void. Paid tickets for a cancelled event are refunded in full automatically, to the payment method that was used.
Paid tickets
- Hosts can charge for entry. The host — not Party — is the seller of the ticket and the organiser of the event, and your contract for entry is with the host. Party provides the technology and arranges the payment through the payment provider Stripe.
- The price shown is the total you pay; Party charges buyers nothing on top. You pay on Stripe’s page by card or another method offered there. Party never receives your payment details.
- While you pay, your place is held for a limited time. Your ticket is issued as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. If the payment is not completed, the place is released; if a payment arrives after the last place has gone, it is refunded in full.
- If the event is cancelled you are refunded in full. Otherwise a paid ticket cannot be returned, unless the host agrees to a refund or the law requires one; there is no statutory right of withdrawal for tickets to an event on a fixed date. If you delete your account, tickets you have not used are lost without a refund.
- A refunded or disputed ticket stops working at the door.
Hosts who charge for entry
- To charge for entry you set up payouts with Stripe, which verifies your identity and pays your share to your bank account. Stripe’s terms for connected accounts apply between you and Stripe. Tickets are priced in the currency of the country you are paid in.
- Party keeps a service fee from each ticket sold. It is shown in the app before you set a price (at launch: 5 % of the ticket price plus CHF 0.50 per ticket, or the equivalent in your currency) and already includes the payment provider’s processing fees.
- You are responsible for your event, for the taxes on your ticket sales (including VAT where you owe it) and for giving your guests what they paid for.
- If you cancel an event, every buyer is refunded in full and nothing is paid out for it. You can refund individual tickets yourself. If a buyer’s bank reverses a payment (a dispute), the amount and any dispute fee can be taken back from your payouts.
- Party may pause sales or payouts, or refund buyers, where there are signs of fraud or of an event that will not take place.
Liability
Party is provided as it is, without a promise that it is always available or free of errors. Hosts are responsible for their own events; Party does not organise them and is not a party to what hosts and guests agree. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the applicable law, in particular for intent, gross negligence or personal injury.
Changes and termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may update these terms and will tell you about material changes in the app.
Law and venue
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in remain unaffected.
